So time for another update. For those who follow our twitter updates, you will know that we have been having some mechanical problems lately. First, our outboard decided to dump all of it’s oil out the exhaust, then our house bank batteries decided to die.
Our outboard motor has been in the shop for over a week now & each time we visit the shop, it’s either closed or he is at lunch. A typical Mexican waiting game, but I’m confident that he will be able to fix the outboard. Thankfully our friend Noah has leant us his outboard & offered to sell it to us if ours can’t be repaired. Now the batteries, they are still a bit of a mystery to me, but I think I have found what is wrong. If I’m correct, then we won’t have to replace them, will post an update when I know more.
Now for the GOOD news! First off we’re still in beautiful Puerto Escondido, which is a good place to be if you need to make repairs. Secondly, I picked up my new Canadian Passport yesterday, thanks for the ride into town Ward!
Now that we have my passport, we can start getting ready to leave. It’s probably safe to say that we will be leaving within 1 week, but of course this will depend on our repairs.
Stay tuned for more soon.

From s/v La Vita:
Congrats getting your passport. Best of luck with the outboard repairs and battery issue. Lots of systems to maintain on a boat and mysteries to solve, that’s for sure.
Cheers,

From Mr J Fortin:
I came across your testimonial about Mazatlan yachts. Since you are doing exactly what we are planning for the future ( within a year is all goes well). I would like to know if you still think the same way now then you did when you first purchase your vessel. Would you still recommand Mazatlan yacht. Thank you for your time, fair wind and the best to all of you.

From Mr J Fortin:
I would like to thank you all for the wealth of informations. In the last weeks, I have been reading your blogs. (all of them since your start).
You are doing almost exactly what I am planning to do, (time schedule about a year from now, sailing course perhaps a bit different.) I am planning the sea of Cortez to Central America via the coastal waters, port by port, village by village. The first 5 years will probably be 6 months south, 6 months back in the Vancouver area for work.(My union pension altough can be drawn next year, I will take too much of a hit, because of my age (55 next year).
Your blogs have been an insperation, and a great source of info.
When I start living on My sailboat, I will be sure to return the favor, by first starting a blog and webpage of My own so that others can benefit from My experiences, just as I benefited from yours. Mind you I can guarenty that My page and blogs will be full of mistake, since My primary language is French. But what the heck I am sure people will get the picture.
On this note, in return for your opening My eyes about the world of sailing in Mexico. I am offering My services if needed. If you need someting to be located here, boat parts, or what ever, Just give Me a jingle, and I will do My best to help you out.
Be well, good wind and the best to you and your family. And hope that some day We cross path.
Sincerely.
