Well, we are getting close to a fix on the steering cable. I have found a cable, but now just hoping that it will be long enough. If not, we will have to source the cable in La Paz.
We have been putting off the repair for a few days as it requires me to empty out our lazerettes (storage compartments in the back of the cockpit). The weather has been… how can I say.. LIVELY lately, so it wasn’t a real good idea to empty out everything on deck to watch it all blow away.
Hopefully tomorrow will be the day & I can get started on the repair. Today we rented a car, we have rented it for a week. We are hoping that it will help us with the repair process (sourcing parts in town), then give us a set of wheels to easily provision in town, with hopes of leaving within a week or two.
Not sure if I have blogged about it, but a few days ago our school books arrived in Mazatlan, many thanks to Ray & Jeannette for helping us with that shipment.
We’re still having a great time here in Puerto Escondido, it’s a really beautiful place with an amazing community of people.
So, that’s all for now! Remember, we try to twitter a few times each day, you can read those on the right hand side of our blog.
